amazing how technology has changed. I thought it was weird in the first vid to see all the antenna tubes bounceing around on the cars. You don't see that anymore with the 2.4 systems.

I used to race the gold chassis RC/10's and JrX2's... I still have most of the cars in that first vid sitting in my storage unit... I still have an original Tamiya Bruiser NIB, I finally tore the wrapping paper off of it last summer. I had it sitting in a box-still wrapped-from when I was a kid.

I was the opposite, when I switched to my Losi JrX2, I never looked back to the AE.. I still have them both. I bought my Losi new in '88 for 350 bux!!! That's a lot of money when you're 12!

You mentioned 4wd chain drive, it reminded me that I still have my Kyosho Turbo Optima Mid SE... It's 4wd chain-drive with a double decked aluminum chassis. It handled like butt, but it was unique.

I'll tell ya the most missed RC of my past is the ClodBuster, mine was stolen out of my apartment yeas ago... It was the original version with the "Chevrolet" molded in the tailgate... That body is worth hundreds to collectors now.

I have almost bought one about 50 times... I need to before they get discontinued.

The Clod, was easily my favorite R/C of all time! Even more than my FG MT.

I know it was slow plus it handled like a shopping cart, (I had a standard Futaba S-148 for steering!!!) so it made the handling even worse, but it was still my favorite. 2 Sanyo 1700 SCR packs wired in parallel! Boy it was amazing how fast those stock Mabuchi motors could scream!

I would love to buy another one, (I still have all the original chrome and all the red plastics on the parts trees) Put all the original parts on it, a pair of mild brush-less motors and a mild Lipo pack! Sounds like a good time to me! The chassis must remain stock though, otherwise it's just not a ClodBuster.
