Thread: locktite?

    hi guys just got my motor from DDM and want to put it back in the car but hive got one question.
    should i use locktite on the flat head scews that attach the motor to the bottom chassis(the 3 bottom screws)?
    and which red or blue?

    Blue, just a very small dab on the end of the threads, it doesn't take much then check them after your run and the engine cools down to be sure they stay seated.

    Once again I must agree with the big guy. Red will usually strip the head of the screw long before you get it out. I usually use blue loctite bt have had good luck with the HPI thread locker. I think it is just a gel form of blue loctite?? Red is sexy on some things just not on your bolts....

    i've only really ever used red on set screws in cvd axles

    I use blue gel permatex threadlocker. This holds much better than liquid, but is not permanat. As well on HPI Japan's site in thier June release section they are Releasing a Red loctite specificly for the Baja, athough I dont Know when we will get it here.
